Sorry guys if this is the wrong place to put this - I'll understand if you want to delet it

Just wanted tosay how sad I am at Michael Jackson's passing today.. and although he's not Sci-Fi I thought his music and especially his music videos were pretty futuristic and well before their time. I think he was a genius but I don't think he ever grew up - any fans out there?... what were your faves?

Thriller (the monster dance!) and Black or White were mine!

I don't think this is the wrong place, after all Mr Jackson did make a sci fi film of sorts (I think it was called Moonwalker).
His videos were always impessive, his music inspiring and even if his private life was courted with controversy, his public life was certainly "other worldly".

If I'm honest I'm not all that surprised he's dead. Every time he appeared in public recently he looked awful. I think he'd simply been through too much physically and emotionally to carry on.

In many ways I feel very sorry for the man. I don't know if he was guilty of the paedophilia charges - I'm not sure we ever will know - but I sincerely hope he was innocent. I think he was a very naive and disturbed man who had his own childhood taken away. The whole sorry affair shows that you can all that money, success and fame and still be desperately unhappy. Not meaning to get too deep and serious, but that's a lesson that all those people desperate for celebrity could do with learning.
